Join the Team

Joining Ohio LandSAR means becoming part of a team of dedicated volunteers who serve their communities when it matters most. Our members come from all walks of life — first responders, veterans, outdoor enthusiasts, medical professionals, and everyday citizens united by a single goal: to help find and rescue those in need. Whether it’s a missing child, a lost hiker, or a disaster response effort, our volunteers step forward with courage, compassion, and commitment.

You don’t need to have previous search and rescue experience to join. Ohio LandSAR provides comprehensive training in search operations, navigation, wilderness survival, emergency medical response, and teamwork. Volunteers learn how to operate safely and effectively in challenging environments, ensuring that every mission is carried out with professionalism and care. All you need is a willingness to learn, a reliable attitude, and a heart for service.

As a member of Ohio LandSAR, you’ll gain valuable skills, build lifelong friendships, and become part of a statewide network of people who are always ready to respond when every second counts. You’ll train alongside skilled professionals, participate in realistic field exercises, and develop the confidence and capability to make a real difference in your community.

Ohio LandSAR is a 100% volunteer organization, and our work depends on people who are willing to dedicate their time and effort to help others. Members are expected to participate in regular training and be available for deployment when missions arise. In return, you’ll be part of a mission-driven team that embodies service, teamwork, and integrity.

If you’re dependable, curious, and ready to serve, we invite you to take the first step. Joining Ohio LandSAR is more than volunteering — it’s answering the call to stand with others when lives are on the line.
